City Sets Schedule for 2019 Budget Committee Meetings

February 26, 2019  — The City of Wilsonville Budget Committee has several upcoming meetings scheduled to review City financial information and to approve a Fiscal Year (FY)  2019-20 budget for Council adoption before June 30, 2019.

Wednesday, March 13, 6-10 pm, City Hall (Willamette Falls Rooms 1 & 2): 
The Budget Committee is scheduled to review the City’s mid-year financial status for the current fiscal year.

Thursday, May 16, 6-10 pm, City Hall (Council Chambers):  
The Budget Committee convenes for the initial meeting to review the City’s Proposed Budget for FY 2019-20.  The Committee is scheduled to take public testimony and consider various aspects of the City’s annual budget. 

Tuesday, May 28, 6-10 pm, City Hall (Council Chambers):
The Budget Committee meets a second time to review the City’s proposed budget for FY 2019-20. At this meeting, the budget of the City’s Urban Renewal Agency will also be considered. The public has the opportunity to address the Committee regarding either budget. The Budget Committee may approve the budget document at this meeting and recommend the budget for City Council consideration on June 3.

Wednesday, May 29, 6-9 pm, City Hall (Council Chambers):
Often, the Budget Committee completes the review and approval process in two meetings; a third date is set should the committee need additional time to review and approve the FY 2019-20 budget.

Once approved by the Budget Committee, the City’s annual budget is forwarded to the City Council for a public hearing and potential adoption, scheduled for Monday, June 3, 7 pm at City Hall.

The Budget Committee consists of Wilsonville’s five City Councilors and five citizens at large, who are appointed to three-year terms by the governing body. The City is currently seeking one volunteer applicant to serve on the committee; applications must be received by March 26.
