If a position is vacated before the term is completed, a replacement is appointed by the Council to serve until the next election.
Meeting Information
Typically, the City Council meets on the first and third Monday of each month. Should the Monday fall on a holiday, the meeting is held that Thursday.
Work session begins at 5:00 pm, with the City Council meeting following at 7:00 pm. All City Council meetings and work sessions are open to the public. When needed, an executive session (closed to the public) is scheduled.
At each City Council meeting, community members have an opportunity to address the Council to express a concern, voice an opinion or share details of a community event. During this period of Citizen Input, community members may address the City Council (for up to three minutes) about items not on the agenda and/or items on the agenda that are not scheduled for a public hearing. Staff and/or the City Council makes an effort to respond to questions raised during citizen input, either at the meeting or as quickly as possible thereafter.
