On August 9th, we celebrate the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, recognizing the rich cultures, unique identities, and valuable contributions of indigenous communities around the globe. This day was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1994 to promote and protect the rights of the world's indigenous population.

The City recognizes the need to raise awareness about the issues faced by indigenous communities and support their ongoing fight for justice and equality.
