Stump Grinding 2021

City staff removing fallen trees from the street

The City of Wilsonville  Parks & Recreation Department has been allocated Wilsonville- Metro Community Enhancement funds to provide street tree stump grinding services to about 100 residents. There were hundreds of trees impacted by the February 2021 winter storm.  Some street trees could not be saved and had to be removed. City code requires that once street trees are removed, they must be replanted in the same place or a location deemed suitable by the Planning Department. Often times, the stump can be a barrier to replanting in the same location unless it  is ground.  In order to help community members replant street trees, this program is available in September 2021. Selected locations will have their street tree ground in October 2021.

Applications - Closed September 30 at 5:00pm

This one-time opportunity is open to all residents, the guidelines are listed below:

  • Submit an online application between September 1 - 30, 2021.
  • Application must be submitted or approved by the property owner
  • No more than one stump per household will be removed.
  • The City is prioritizing the removal of larger, older street tree stumps
  • To increase cost efficiency, the City seeks to identify neighborhood ‘clusters’ for removal.
  • The City seeks to divide this service equally among all four City quadrants.
  • Street trees must be replanted per Planning Department regulations (Contact the Planning Department for street tree replanting  information.)
