January 12, 2024Explore Wilsonville, the City of Wilsonville’s tourism-promotion and destination-marketing program, has received a MarCom Gold Award for its new brand identity.

Explore Wilsonville’s new website showcases the updated visual identity, featuring a new logo, fonts and brand colors that align with the destination’s values and vision. JayRay, Explore Wilsonville's marketing agency of record since 2020, led the visual identity process. Through research and conversation, JayRay identified Explore Wilsonville's brand themes and proposed a fresh new look, centered around the tagline, "In the heart of it all.”

January 5, 2024 — On January 4, 2024, the Wilsonville City Council adopted the Wastewater Treatment Plant Master Plan, a 20-year plan to guide the management of the City’s waste water system. Adopted as an element of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, this Master Plan estimates future system usage and capital investment needed to complete new projects and replace aging equipment over the next two decades.

December 19, 2023 — On December 18, 2023, the City Council adopted new solid waste and recycling rates, to take effect on February 1. The new rates, established with franchise hauler Republic Services, represent the first local increase in residential and commercial waste and recycling collection rates in five years. The average increase of 9.2% for residential customers equates to an additional $2.60 per month for typical 35-gallon service.

December 5, 2023 — On December 4, 2023, the Council executed a guaranteed price amendment with contractor Tapani | Sundt that allocates the final $36.8 million needed to complete construction of a suite of five projects that comprise the Boeckman Road Corridor Improvement Program.

This action, the final scheduled amendment to the Progressive Design-Build Agreement, paves the way for these inter-connected, high-priority Capital Improvement Projects to proceed; they include construction of the “Boeckman Dip Bridge,” bike/pedestrian facilities, the extension of a sanitary sewer line to serve Frog Pond neighborhoods, and intersection improvements at Canyon Creek Rd.

The Oregon Department of Transportation, which hosted an open house last week in Wilsonville to provide an update on the I-5 Boone Bridge Replacement Project, is offering an opportunity for more community members to provide feedback that will inform the project.

November 7, 2023 — On November 6, 2023, the Wilsonville City Council approved a Public Art Program Policy and Guidelines recommended by the Arts, Culture and Heritage Commission (ACHC). The action provides an essential framework for the City’s development of a long-term plan to showcase, grow, manage, and maintain the City’s public art collection.

In support of growing a more vibrant cultural community, the Council approved the ACHC’s Five-Year Action Plan and Annual One-Year Implementation Plan. The Plan summarizes recent work accomplished by the ACHC, provides a longer-range plan, and details objectives for the current fiscal year.

October 30, 2023 — Wilsonville’s award-winning South Metro Area Regional Transit, known locally as SMART, is participating with other Clackamas County transit providers to make trip planning easier.

RideClackamas.org is a new, interactive website launched this summer to make riding the bus — and other modes of public transportation — easier for people who live and work in Clackamas County.
