April 1, 2024The City of Wilsonville and Republic Services are hosting a Bulky Waste Day event on Saturday, May 11, 9 am-1 pm, at Republic Services (10295 SW Ridder Rd.) in Wilsonville.

Twice annually, Bulky Waste Day provides an opportunity for Wilsonville residents to dispose of large or unusual items that cannot be picked up curbside. Proof of Wilsonville residence is required. 

In lieu of charging a drop-off fee, the City asks participants to make cash/check donations to Wilsonville Community Sharing, which operates the local food bank and provides critical assistance to local families in need. Donations may to be dropped upon entry.

March 26, 2024 — The Wilsonville Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applicants for the Community Opportunity Grant, which provides funding for local organizations  to support a wide array of projects that benefit community groups, residents and visitors to Wilsonville.

Each year, the Community Opportunity Grant Program allocates $25,000 funding from the City’s general fund to support a wide range of local programs and projects that promote education, diversity, arts or community involvement and/or programs that benefit youth or older adults. Program funds are disbursed twice yearly, each spring and fall.

March 25, 2024 — The City of Wilsonville is recruiting applicants interested in serving on the City boards and commissions that provide guidance and oversight of City programs.

New terms begin in July 2024 for eight open seats on four City boards. Members typically attend evening meetings (no more than once a month) and assist in making policy recommendations to the City Council.

Planning Director Referral to Development Review Board for a Continuation of Non-Conforming Use Determination at 29400 SW Town Center Loop West:  Planning Director referral of Case File No. AR23-0031, a request for Class 2 Planning Director Interpretation, to Development Review Board. The request is to confirm or deny that the Proposed Occupant’s (The Home Depot) proposed use of 29400 SW Town Center Loop West constitutes a continuation of non-conforming use.

March 19, 2024 — On March 18, 2024, The Wilsonville City Council, on second reading, adopted amendments to development code within the Coffee Creek Industrial Design Overlay District. The action supports the needs of prospective industrial developers without compromising the City’s form-based design standards within the connected, high-quality employment center.

March 5, 2024 — On March 4, 2024, The Wilsonville City Council granted annual property-tax exemptions to five multi-family facilities — Autumn Park Apartments, Charleston Apartments, Creekside Woods LP, Rain Garden LP and Wiedemann Park — that provide 365 residential units of affordable housing. These annual exemptions allow the facilities to provide lower-cost rent to families, seniors and individuals meeting income qualifications.

To expand the City’s broadband infrastructure, the Council adopted an amendment to an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Sherwood to fund the $145,000 installation of fiber conduit along Boberg Road to connect the SMART Administration and Public Works facilities.

 February 26, 2024 — The City of Wilsonville’s Budget Committee has scheduled upcoming meetings to review current financial operations and to consider and approve a Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 budget to be forwarded to the City Council for adoption.  

Thursday, May 9, 6-10 pm, City Hall (Council Chambers): The Budget Committee convenes for an initial review of the City’s proposed FY 2024-25 budget.  The Committee scrutinizes aspects of the budget, hears public testimony and completes initial review and deliberation.

February 26, 2024 -- The Willamette Water Supply Program (WWSP) is in the midst of completing multiple pipeline installation projects that are temporarily re-routing Wilsonville traffic along segments of 95th Ave. and Kinsman Rd.

February 16, 2024 — In coordination with the City of Wilsonville, the Willamette Water Supply Program is set to begin installation of a new segment of 66-inch underground water pipeline along 95th Avenue.

Next Friday, Feb. 23, work is scheduled to begin on 95th Avenue between Boeckman Road and Hillman Court. This work is scheduled to continue through August 2024 (barring inclement weather delays that could extend the project timeline).

January 20, 2024 — On January 18, 2024, The Council adopted an intergovernmental agreement with Clackamas County to fund the design of a new traffic roundabout at the three-way intersection of Elligsen Road, Stafford Road and 65th Ave. This major transportation enhancement, long advocated for by the City Council, is located just outside the City in unincorporated Clackamas County. The City is contributing up to $1 million from developer-paid Systems Development Charges to support the advancement of this high-priority project, which supports Wilsonville Transportation System Plan goals; County funding comes from the 2019 voter-approved Vehicle Registration Fee.

January 17, 2024 — To shed light on the history and/or lived experiences of people in historically-marginalized communities, the City of Wilsonville’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is curating an all-new series of hour-long talks.

The DEI Speaker Series, which debuted last year, resumes with the first of three newly-scheduled events on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 6 pm at the Wilsonville campus of Clackamas Community College (29353 SW Town Center Loop E.).
