Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program Accepting Applications

En  Español  l  Recognizing the detrimental effects of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis on many local small businesses and their employees, the City of Wilsonville has opened the $400,000 Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grants Program to aid the community’s economic recovery. Applications may be submitted online until the 5 pm deadline on Wednesday, April 29.  All qualified applications that meet the deadline are to receive funding consideration. 

Program eligibility is limited to qualifying Wilsonville businesses with 20 full-time employees or less. A complete list of eligibility requirements, additional criteria for the City’s consideration, and a link to the online application is now available.

Developed by the City in collaboration with the Wilsonville Area Chamber of Commerce, the program is designed to provide taxpayer-funded financial assistance to approximately 150 eligible small businesses with $1,000-$4,000 in one-time grant funding. Due to expected heavy demand, the City anticipates insufficient funds to awards all qualifying applicants.

The Wilsonville Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grants Program was approved by City Council on April 20, and is underwritten by $200,000 from Urban Renewal Agency (URA) program income and $200,000 from the City’s Transient Lodging Tax (TLT) general fund revenues.

The Wilsonville Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grants Program includes three tiers to accommodate a variety of local businesses: Home Based Businesses (0-1 employee), Micro-Businesses (0-5 employees), Small-Businesses: (6-20 employees).

  • Home Based Businesses:    up to 28 $1,000 grants to be provided
  • Micro-Businesses:                  up to 85 $2,000 grants to be provided
  • Small-Businesses:                   up to 43 $4,000 grants to be provided

Additionally, this program is funding $10,000 grants to the three Wilsonville hotels located within Clackamas County: SnoozInn, Best Western Wilsonville Inn & Suites and GuestHouse Wilsonville. Qualifying hotels were not eligible for funding provided to other Wilsonville hotels by $10,000 grants from the Washington County Visitors Association.

For funding consideration, businesses must have a valid City of Wilsonville business license and be locally owned and operated. This program is not available to non-profit agencies or operators with virtual/online-only businesses.
