Shred Sensitive Paper Documents at City Hall on Nov. 6

Shred It Truck

October 7, 2021 – The City of Wilsonville is once again collaborating with Shred-It to allow residents and business operators to safely dispose of sensitive paper documents.  The one-time paper-shredding event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 9 am to 2 pm in the City Hall parking lot.

The City’s Public Works staff and Shred-It have established “contactless” protocols to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Residents are instructed to unload their paper documents into large recycling bins. Full bins are rolled to one of two Shred-It trucks, where the contents are immediately shredded.

There is no charge for this service. Instead, the City is asking participants to make an on-site cash or check donation to Wilsonville Community Sharing, which operates the local food bank and provides social services for community members in need.

For the second straight year, the pandemic prevented Wilsonville middle school students from teaming up with Academy Mortgage to host an annual spring shredding event. This City-hosted event is intended to bridge the gap until that popular community event returns.
