Parks and Recreation Board Awards Grants to Local Programs

On Oct. 12, 2017, the City of Wilsonville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board awarded grants to support community programs with funding from the City’s Opportunity Grant program. Three local organizations were awarded $12,355 in grants:

Wilsonville Community Seniors, Inc. for their support of "Wilsonville Piecemakers": $7,355
Wilsonville High School for auditorium lighting system: $3,000
I-5 Connection Chorus for support of the community chorus program: $2,000

The Opportunity Grant program is funded by the City’s general fund to assist local individuals and organizations that further educational or artistic opportunities; encourage and foster diversity; foster advances in education, art or community leadership; or involve youth or elderly population in community activities. A total of $25,000 is made available each year, with application deadlines in September and March, and grant awards made the following month.
