Final Design Review of 5th Street to Kinsman Road Extension Plans Set for April 10 at City Hall

On Tuesday, April 10, 5-6:30 pm, the City is hosting an open house at City Hall, 29799 SW Town Center Loop E, to complete the final design review of the proposed 5th Street to Kinsman Road extension.
City engineers welcome public comment on the project, which extends 5th Street west to intersect with Kinsman Road, which is being extended south from Wilsonville Road.

The project also includes extension of the Ice Age Tonquin Trail 2,000 feet to connect with Boones Ferry Road and a redesign of Boones Ferry Road between Bailey Street and 5th Street.

This project supports long-standing plans to increase connectivity between neighborhoods as the community grows and develops. Once built, this connector offers an alternative to motor vehicle congestion on Wilsonville Road near the I-5 interchange, improves pedestrian and bicyclist routes, and minimizes environmental impacts while supporting the local economy and businesses by filling a gap within the roadway network.

Construction is expected to begin in summer 2019, with completion anticipated in fall 2020.
