Design Survey Seeks Community Feedback on Future of Wilsonville Town Center

The City of Wilsonville is launching a design survey for community members and other stakeholders to share their preferences for the future look and feel of Wilsonville’s Town Center area. The survey asks participants to review a variety of images that represent a range of possibilities for future development in the 100-acre area that encompasses the properties north of Wilsonville Road, within and adjacent to Town Center Loop. The survey, which takes only five minutes to complete, is now available at www.WilsonvilleTownCenter.com/designsurveyand remains open until Sunday, Aug. 20.

Through the survey, the City is asking community members to review many different images of potential developments and identify the images they feel are a good fit for Wilsonville’s Town Center. Survey participants are encouraged to evaluate the images based on their immediate reaction to each photo and clicking on one of the following options: I really like it; Worth considering; I don’t like it; I am not sure; or No answer. The survey does not ask about specific aspects of the buildings, but rather asks overall if the building type would work well in Wilsonville’s Town Center. Since the survey is asking each participant’s personal preferences there are no right or wrong answers to the questions.

The results of the survey are to be used to influence the future design alternatives and, ultimately, the design standards to be included in the Wilsonville Town Center Plan.

The public is encouraged to share the survey with neighbors, family, friends and colleagues in order to attract as much feedback as possible from a wide variety of community members.

The Wilsonville Town Center Plan seeks to guide development in the Town Center area to create a cohesive, unified district that enhances existing assets in the area and sets the stage for new development. The Plan also aims to provide a community-driven vision for Town Center and strategic actions that establish a clear path forward to advancing the vision.

In addition to the survey, the public is invited to answer a Question of the Month throughout the 18-month planning initiative at www.WilsonvilleTownCenter.com.

Funding for the project is provided by a Metro Community Planning and Development Grant with matching funds from the City’s Urban Renewal Agency.
