City Seeks Civic-Minded Community Members for City Boards and Commissions

October 3, 2024 — The City of Wilsonville is recruiting applicants with an interest in serving on the City boards and commissions that provide guidance and oversight of several City programs.

New terms begin in January 2025 for 25 open seats on six City boards. Members typically attend evening meetings (no more than once a month) and assist in making policy recommendations to the City Council.

“Anyone passionate about community involvement should consider applying,” Wilsonville Mayor Julie Fitzgerald said. “The valuable leadership, insight and oversight that our board members provide helps us sustain the high quality of life we enjoy in Wilsonville.”

Positions to be filled include:

Diversity within the City’s Boards and Commissions is critical to ensure that City policies and programs serve people of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ability.  People of all races, genders, ages and nationalities are encouraged to apply.

Qualified applicants are to be interviewed by Mayor Fitzgerald, who makes appointment recommendations to City Council that must be approved by a majority vote.

The application deadline, for new applicants as well as those existing members seeking re-appointment, is Wednesday, October 30. Applications are available and may be completed online at ci.wilsonville.or.us/boardsapp.
