Pollinators need your help. Join us in making a difference.
This project includes five main goals:
Create productive pollinator habitats in Wilsonville, on City and West Linn- Wilsonville School District-owned property, utilizing volunteers and youth organizations to help with plantings and maintenance.
Develop an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan for Wilsonville City-owned grounds and facilities.
Establish interpretive signs near the pollinator gardens to enhance community understanding of pollinators and their habitat needs.
Provide education and tools for Wilsonville residents to create pollinator habitat in their own yards.
Expose students to pollinator education via classes, service learning, youth crews, and club settings and establish a student-led monitoring program.
The project is supported by the following partners:
Bee City USA
Meeting one of City Council's long-term objectives, on August 7, 2017 the Wilsonville's City Council signed Resolution No. 2650, recognizing the City as a member of Bee City USA. The Bee City USA program endorses a set of commitments, defined in a resolution, for creating sustainable habitats for pollinators, which are vital to feeding the planet. There are currently 63 Bee Cities in the US and the number is growing.
