Community Enhancement Program
The 2025 application period is open until January 10, 2025.
The Wilsonville-Metro Community Enhancement Program (CEP) provides funding annually to individuals or organizations to complete projects that improve the city's appearance or environmental quality, increase reuse and recycling opportunities or improve recreational areas and programs.
Organizations that seek to sponsor projects are encouraged to contact the CEP administrator to review the prospective fit of the proposed project (pre-application meetings are required). All projects must take place within city limits and must be completed within two years after funding becomes available.
PROCESS AND TIMELINE OF PROJECT IDENTIFICATION AND SELECTION
2025 tentative process and timeline:
- December 18: Application Workshop at Wilsonville Library, 5 pm.
- January 10, 2025: Applications were accepted online until 5 pm.
- February 2025: Staff review of submitted applications.
- April 2025: Community Enhancement Committee meeting(s) to review projects.
- Each qualifying application representative presents their proposal and answers questions at the Committee's April 17, 2025 meeting at 6:00pm.
- Community Enhancement Committee discusses projects and make a recommendation to City Council
- May 2025: Allocations of funds recommended to and approved by City Council
- July 2025: Allocated funds become available; projects may begin after agreements are signed.
GOALS FOR COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECTS INCLUDE:
- Improve the appearance or environmental quality of the community.
- Reduce the amount or toxicity of waste.
- Increase reuse and recycling opportunities.
- Result in rehabilitation or upgrade of real or personal property owned or operated by a nonprofit organization.
- Result in the preservation or enhancement of wildlife, riparian zones, wetlands, forest lands and marine areas, and/or improve the public awareness and the opportunities to enjoy them.
- Result in improvement to, or an increase in, recreational areas and programs.
- Result in improvement in safety.
- Benefit youth, seniors, low income persons or underserved populations
- Foster and enhance community enrichment through educational programming, arts and cultural projects.
Applicants may not have any previous Community Enhancement program grants that are active at the time of the Community Enhancement Committee (CEC) application review meeting , however, exceptions may be made based on a project performance update and anticipated project completion schedule. (Project proposals seeking an exception should be prepared to provide the committee with this information at the CEC meeting.) Generally, all projects should be complete within the agreed upon project completion date.
