The Heritage Tree Program includes trees/grove of trees that have a historical significance based on their age or that they were planted by or in honor of someone who advanced the interest of trees and plants in the community.

Heritage Trees can also be recognized due to their involvement or inclusion in the development of landscape architecture, forestry, city planning, and culture. They are recognized due to their species, unique features, age, size, setting, design placement, link to important events or activities, location, or persons associated with them.
If you know of any trees that would be a good candidate for the designation of a Heritage Tree, please consider nominating the tree between January 1 and March 31 of each year.
