Wilsonville Commercial Customers Solid-Waste/Recycling Collection Re-Route

Republic Services of Washington and Clackamas Counties is conducting a re-route of commercial businesses front-load routes for solid waste and recycling collection services. This is the first time in 20 years that the company has conducted a re-route of this area, which will improve the efficiciency of collection services.

The scope of this re-route affects nearly 1500 individual retail stores, restaurants, schools and apartments in the city of Wilsonville and surrounding area. These businesses may be affected indirectly with time-of-service-day changes with about 155 in Wilsonville directly affected with service-day changes.

The purpose of this change in routes is to better prepare for the continuing growth occurring in Wilsonville and to make fewer major changes in response to future growth. With this change we hope to have more predictable service times, a more responsive reaction to customer needs, and a reduced workload for our drivers.

Summary of changes that accompany the re-routing of commercial solid-waste and recycling collection:

  • Trash – Adding an additional trash route
  • Recycling – adding an additional recycle route
  • Drivers will now be doing the same commodity route each day rather than switching routes mid-day
  • No Sunday service moving forward – all Sunday routes will be combined with current Saturday service
  • Republic Services is personally calling all customers directly impacted by the change
  • All customers will also receive a recorded message
  • Reroute goes into action on morning of Monday February 19th, 2018
  • Approximately 150 Wilsonville commercial customers will have a different day of service. Most customers will have the same day of service; however pickup times are subject to change.

Businesses that have a question about the re-routing of services may contact Karl Bischoff, Republic Services Supervisor, at 503-404-4202 or Kbischoff@republicservices.com.
