A section of SW Grahams Ferry Road between SW Barber Street and Tooze Road, adjacent to the Villebois neighborhood, is scheduled to be closed weekdays, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, starting on Monday, May 11 through mid-June. During daytime construction hours, a detour route through the Villebois neighborhood is in place — a map of the route is available at the bottom of this page.
The street-improvement project widens Grahams Ferry Road, installs street lights, bike lanes and a sidewalk on the eastside of the road. The cost of the project is to be shared between a private developer, Polygon NW, and the City. The road closures and use of the detour route are planned to end in mid-June and the entire project is planned be completed by mid-July depending on weather.
During construction hours, traffic along the detour route is expected to increase and motorists are urged to slow down and use extra caution as they pass through the residential neighborhood.
The City regrets the inconveniences that this temporary road closure and detour causes local residents and businesses. For local homeowners access is being maintained, however, delays are expected. The road will be open on weekends and on weekdays for commuters before 8:30 am and after 4:30 pm.
