The City of Wilsonville invites members of the public to celebrate Oregon Arbor Week by planting trees in Memorial Park. The tree-planting event is to be held on Saturday, April 11, 10 am – 1 pm. Volunteers should meet in the lower parking lot of the park and are encouraged to bring gloves and dress appropriately. The City provides shovels and a free lunch in appreciation of volunteers.
For the past 17 years Wilsonville has been designated as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation for maintaining a local urban forestry program.
“Trees define our beautiful community and provide so many great benefits throughout the year. Oregon Arbor Week is a perfect time to recognize all the benefits that trees provide and spend a little time giving back by planting new trees or caring for existing ones,” said Chris Neamtzu, Planning Director.
