Wilsonville Citizens Academy

Have you ever wondered just how your local government works, or what the role of the Mayor and City Manger really is? The Wilsonville Citizens Academy will answer all of those questions and more!

The Academy will prepare participants for city leadership positions as well as:
  •  Develop participant leadership skills
  •  Develop participant communication skills
  •  Learn public meetings requirements
  •  Networking with city leaders and other participants
  •  Improve community engagement between city staff and public
  •  Learn about city staff responsibilities and services
Open to residents of the City of Wilsonville. If space is available a limited number of spots will be made available to local business owners or employees who live outside of Wilsonville but who work within the City limits. One spot can be reserved for a Wilsonville High School senior. 

There is no charge for the program, but class size will be limited to 25 participants.

2018 Meeting Dates and Locations, all meetings begin at 6:00 pm and end at 9:00 pm, unless otherwise noted. The program is offered at no cost to participants. 

*December 7th- 6:00 PM City Hall- Pre Meeting-Attendance to this meeting is required to participate in the Academy. *

Jan 17th - Goal Setting with Mayor Knapp and City Manager Bryan Cosgrove- City Hall *Note this is a Wednesday*

February 15 - CD, Planning, EcDev, Engineering-City Hall

March 15- Library, Parks and Rec, SMART- Wilsonville Library

April 19- Public Works and Finance- Tours Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants 

May 17- Police and TVF&R- TVF&R Station 56, 8445 SW Elligsen Rd

June 18th- Graduation-City Hall*This is a Monday, start time will be 7:00 pm as it will take place during a City Council Meeting.
